The Art of Torma Making

With Meisu Chen from Kadampa Meditation Center, NY
Saturday | March 28 | 10am–4pm

Odiyana Kadampa Buddhist Center is delighted to be holding a workshop on the traditional Buddhist art of torma making. Tormas are traditional custom-made food offerings (usually made of marzipan or fondant) that are offered to the Buddhas in various ritual practices and prayers such as empowerments, retreats and chanted prayers. Representing an offering of great bliss, tormas can range from very simple to exquisitely beautiful.

Meisu Chen from Kadampa Meditation Center, New York, will lead this hands-on workshop, teaching this beautiful art. She is known for her creativity and skill in making beautiful, qualified tormas and is happy to share her many years of experience making tormas with everyone interested.

The workshop will be informal, practical and a lot of fun. It is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner. So come join us as we learn about the various types of tormas and how to make them in a qualified manner according to the New Kadampa lineage.

Everyone is welcome. Space is limited and pre-registration will be required to be assured we have appropriate supplies.

Cost: $30 per person (all supplies included).
