Meditate in Middletown
Mondays Weekly | Starting Monday, October 19th
7:00 – 8:15 pm
at First Church Middletown (190 Court Street) in the Memorial Room
About the Class
This world needs more peace. We can all be a part of bringing this about by becoming a more peaceful person. When we bring about this change in ourselves we naturally bring more calm and kindness to everyone we meet and to every situation we find ourselves in. An essential part of being able to benefit others is becoming stronger ourselves and creating more balance in our life.
Each class includes guided meditation and brief practical advice from Buddha’s teachings, helping us to develop inner peace, confidence, compassion and wisdom. Learn to let go of distractions and experience a sense of inner calm, leading to positive conclusions, intentions and feelings that we can carry with us into modern daily life.
Everyone welcome, no experience necessary.
The Teacher
Matthew has practiced and taught Kadampa Buddhism and meditation for many years under the guidance of many senior teachers of the New Kadampa Tradition.
Matthew previously lived at the Kadampa World Peace Temple in New York where he engaged in in-depth study and retreat, and in 2023 he completed the Intensive Teacher Training Program at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in Northern England. Matthew teaches from the heart in a clear, warm and relaxed way, that is always practical and relevant to our daily lives.
