Frequently Asked Questions

Which classes should I start with?

All general program classes or drop-in classes are ideal for beginners and experienced meditators alike. Classes may include topics like overcoming stress and anxiety, improving relationships, gaining peace of mind, learning to love, and dealing with anger. No previous experience in meditation is necessary.

What is the class format?

Classes include a guided meditation to let go of distractions and busyness, practical advice on how to apply Buddhist principles into your daily life and then a second guided meditation to contemplate the advice shared from the heart, relating it to our own experience. There is usually time after the second meditation for discussion and questions.

Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend classes?

No, all you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your mind and life. You don’t have to be Buddhist to gain benefit from meditating and putting the advice into practice in daily life.

How should I dress for class?

Dress comfortably. There is no special clothing needed for these meditation classes. Chairs and cushions are available.

Do I have to wait for the next series of classes to begin?

You can drop in to any of the classes in a series without waiting for a series to begin. Attending the entire series of classes is highly beneficial as each class builds on the next. However, each class is taught in such a way that if you only attend any one class, you will still gain benefit from it.
